We have been using non standard units to measure the length and height of things around us. We had a class investigation to see who had the longest and shortest pencil. We each measured our own pencils using cubes so that we could accurately compare the amount of units. Joseph had the shortest   pencil which was 5 units long. Most pencils were 2 units longer at 7 units but the longest pencils belonged to George W and Orlaith, they had the same length at 9 units. Tomorrow we will be measuring ourselves!
