1K came in some super outfits today for Children in Need. The theme was ‘Do Your Thing’ so we had some children come as an artist, baker and footballers!

To all of the parents and their wonderful children in 2C, I would just like to say a very big thank you for all of the lovely cards and get well soon messages. In no other job would you be welcomed back with such heartfelt joy as I was this morning by all of the children.

I would also like to thank our fabulous teachers and TA’s, including Mr Roberts, for supporting the children in my absence. Information about rescheduled parent consultations will follow shortly.

Now back to business and to conclude our science investigation!

Do our bodies work faster as we get older?

The results showed that yes, our bodies do get faster as we get older, but that a time comes when our bodies start to slow back down again. (in my case, without remembering to tell the brain!!)

With Sincere thanks

Mrs Claybrooke 🙂

Here are some photos from our trip. The children enjoyed visiting an Anderson Shelter, making gas masks, stamping their identity cards, re-enacting an air raid and having a lovely lunch!
It was a great day out.

In Year 1 we have been learning about air raids and this helped us with our artwork last week. The children used watercolours to create the effect of fire in the sky and black paper to make the silhouettes of buildings. It looked very effective and they created super work. Well done!

World War 2 Birthday Party

0

Posted by Miss Kendall | Posted in Uncategorized | Posted on 20-10-2017

Today we threw a birthday party for our WW2 character Flossie. The children got to experience what a birthday party would have been like during the war. Before the party, we made decorations such as bunting and paper chains. Food was rationed and the rest of the food that you kindly brought in was donated to Harvest Festival. We also got to listen to some 1940s music which the children enjoyed dancing to. At the end of the party, we said a prayer thinking about the people who are currently without food and those who had to make the most of what they had during the war.
