Remembrance Day in 1C

Today we had 2 minutes silence in school to remember the soldiers who fought and died in wars. We made a clay poppy over the week, rolling, squeezing and poking the material to make our shape. We put them altogether to make a poppy field. In maths we looked at clocks and calendars to help us understand the significance of the time that we held our silence.

We had fun experimenting with liquids to see who could make the best bubble mixture. We made some huge bubbles with washing-up liquid, water and glycerin. We discovered that if you stir the mixture a lot, the bubbles will be bigger.

We also used chalks and pastels to make bubble pictures. We observed the colours in the bubbles.
