The children have been gathering inspiration and exciting ideas and vocabulary for their Forest descriptions. The grown ups who picked us up today popped in to see see our work and help us gather more ideas ready for our big writing task tomorrow. The children are excited to write and I can’t wait to read their work. I will post their finished work online.

We went on an adventure to a desert island this morning. Lots of exciting things happened to us on our travels. We used our experiences to write a collaborative story. You can read the finished story if you click on the page entitled “Our Stories” above.

The children in Yellow RWI group listened to the story of “Goldilocks and the three bears.”

They played “what if..?” and changed elements of the story. Their versions were even more exciting than the original!

The children pretended they were Goldilocks or Goldiboy and wrote letters of apology to Baby Bear. They were awarded cubes for full stops, capital letters, finger spaces, spelling and adventurous vocabulary.

When we arrived at school today. We discovered that the hall had been transformed into the ‘Museum of Remembered Objects.’ We were all given £1.50 to spend. We bought our entrance tickets for £1 each.
When we went inside, the museum was filled with artefacts from famous fairy tales.

There were some very odd ladies there too. They were called Mrs Cobbler, Mrs Hubbard and Mrs Goose.

We looked around the museum and tried to work out which story the artefacts were from and why they were so special.

After exploring the museum, we went to the gift shop and chose a beautiful bookmark to buy as a souvenir.
We finished our visit with a trip to the cafe for a drink and a biscuit.

We thought of some questions we wanted to find the answer to about our Queen. We then read the big book to find the answers and did some writing about her.
